hello

toki! mostly i'm just a guy who's learning how to make websites because he's tired of social media and stuff. there's not much interesting for me to say about myself, so mostly i'm gonna be using this page to talk about various things i'm into.
but the basic rundown about me is: i was born in 2001, i live in texas, and i'm getting married in october. i'm also transgender or whatever (he/him).
currently i do all of my website editing at work. i spend all of my free time downloading music and playing games and/or watching movies with my fiancée.

music

i spend like 90% of my time doing music-related things.
here are some of my favorite albums right now, but keep in mind i'm not a critic. i have no idea how to write good music reviews. usually my thoughts are just "this is really good". so please don't look to me for like, real music opinions lmao.

PSEUDO-SUBLIMATION by $WAGGOT is a crazy fifty-track mixtape that, in my opinion, somehow has zero flops. i don't even know what to say about it, you'll just have to listen for yourself. it goes hard as fuck in order, but if you wanna skip around, "baby's gotta do" is a great song about growing up with ADHD, "wet nightmare" is wonderful, and "$LUGGER" is what my website is named after. fair warning: bandcamp only shows thirty-five tracks available to stream, but if you download it, all fifty will be there. also, the coverart on this website is censored. there are dicks on the bandcamp page. beware!

paper flowers by $WAGGOT & Spatial Manufacture Ltd. is a short EP made up of b-sides from REALITY LOSER. don't get me wrong, REALITY LOSER also slaps. it's unbelievably good, as is literally everything these two do together. but there's just something about paper flowers that speaks to me. specifically, i think about "smoke a little cocaine" all the time. like, pretty much 24/7. listen to this EP, please. it's free on soundcloud. it used to be on spotify and stuff but it's not anymore. you can download my archive of it here .

Shape Shift With Me by Against Me! slaps. i don't really know what else to say about it? i think about all the songs all the time. sorry... it's really hard to review albums that have been with me for so long lol. i listened to this when it came out in 2016 and i was 15 years old so i can't imagine it any other way. just listen to this one, man, idk what to tell you. listen to it all the way through. also i saw Laura Jane Grace live with Anthony Green and it was really good.

blood vomit by emily bewley is like 95% eating disorder, so please proceed with caution. if you're in the right headspace i highly recommend it. it's beautiful and sad. my favorite song is mallory weiss, but also they're all very very good. emily later combined the songs into one track called "acidity" which is equally great. none of her music is available anymore, which is a shame, but luckily i've archived this one for ya (click the image). 3amperson has a bunch of her stuff archived too.

tv

i don't watch a ton of tv but here are my favorites.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer is my favorite show of all time. this should not be surprising to you if you've ever spoken to me. i think everybody should watch Buffy the Vampire Slayer and its spinoff show Angel at least once in their lives. it's genuinely essential viewing to me. i don't want to spoil anything if you've somehow made it almost 30 years without knowing anything about this show, so i'll just tell you it's about growing up and it can get really sad. i love every single episode, even the goofy ones, but if you want to get into it you can watch "Passion of the Nerd"'s episode guide on YouTube to decide which early episodes to skip. but i recommend at least attempting to watch all the way through.

i don't really like recommending ongoing shows because i'm always afraid it'll get really bad and everyone will blame me and make fun of me etc., but i'm making an exception for yellowjackets. it's like Lord of the Flies but with soccer lesbians, but also better than that description makes it sound. christina ricci is great as misty, like, it's literally the role she was born to play somehow. same for melanie lynskey, honestly. i don't wanna give any spoilers but this show gets wild. there's lots of twists and turns. and, like, a LOT of gay people. watch this show, please please please. it's so good. you'll love it and i'll love YOU forever.
books

i almost never read fiction anymore, besides garbage romance novels (affectionate). i read a lot of comic books but i'm not particularly attached to any of them lol, they just pass the time. so most of these are gonna be nonfiction books i found interesting. sorry if that's boring to you. you're free to skip this section. i don't have anything particularly interesting to say.

Because Internet by Gretchen McCulloch is a very interesting dive into how the internet has impacted language. you may have heard of it if you're as obsessed with Tom Scott as i am. it's a very interesting read! i've read it a few times. just read the book, i don't have much to say about it because i'm not a book reviewer. all i can say is i liked it a lot and really appreciated how descriptive (as opposed to prescriptive) it was. interestingly this book has been translated? curious about how that works since by nature it's quite english-centric. looking forward to knowing enough japanese and spanish to see how they managed that.
video games

i'm not a gamer. don't trust my video game opinions.

Hypnospace Outlaw is an extremely immersive and faithful puzzle game about the 90s/y2k internet experience. specifically, it takes place in an alternate universe where they invented these contraptions that let us browse the web while we sleep. it's very detailed-- webpages have their own era-appropriate visuals, and there's shit-tons of in-universe music to be found. some of them are unironic bangers! please play this game, i'll love you forever. it's on a surprising number of platforms (xbox, playstation, switch), but i recommend playing it on PC for the most accurate experience.

Katamari Forever rules. honestly i don't know if it's my favorite, but it might be. idk, all the katamari games are quite similar but this one has RoboKing and i love him deeply. it's also really polished. if you've never played a katamari game before, just start with damacy (or damacy reroll, it's pretty much the same). your first katamari game could definitely be Forever, but its main appeal is the mix of old and new levels, so idk how much you'll enjoy it. Forever kinda makes all the old levels super hard for no reason so it might be frustrating for new players. play damacy or we love katamari, since both of those have rerolls. you'll love them. best series ever imo.

i love the Yakuza/Like a Dragon/Ryu ga Gotoku series. i don't know if the entry pictured (Yakuza: Like a Dragon / RGG7) is my favorite; i'm just using it as a placeholder for the whole series. you might be thinking "i don't want to play as a yakuza", well, lucky for you, you almost never do! someone did the math once and you spend like less than 8% of the game playing as a member of the yakuza. that's probably a big reason they changed the english name to Like a Dragon lol. now you might be thinking "everyone said this is like GTA but in japan, i'm not interested" well they're wrong! it's not. it's way sillier. and also at times extremely gay.
